A new media company focusing on commercials, music videos, content, experiential and art.
Creative commercial and music video company DNA announced today the inception of a new media company called AND/artists and derelicts. Helmed by current DNA Executive Producer Missy Galanida and long time DNA producer Heather Heller, AND will continue to focus on commercials and music videos, but will also produce new forms of media such as branded content, web films, live experiential advertising and music. The directors at AND will be multitalented and multidisciplinary, capable of editing, shooting, creating original concepts as well as motion graphics, music and visual effects.
“The world of media demands us to evolve as rapidly as it has. AND will still maintain the high level of creative work that DNA is know for, but will also push forward into the future of advertising, responding to the needs in an organic and conceptual way” commented Heller.
DNA is an award winning Production Company with an arsenal of talented directors such as Francis Lawrence, Mark Webb, Rich Lee and Jean Baptiste Mondino. Launched by David Naylor, DNA has long been known as a creative company stewarding its directors from the early stages of music videos, to high-level commercials. Many directors at DNA have successfully leveraged their high concept music videos into blockbuster features including I am Legend (Lawrence) and 500 Days of Summer, and The Amazing Spiderman (Webb). DNA has amassed a huge list of awards including MTV awards, and Grammy’s.
“AND is the next logical step for DNA. Our solid brand of talented directors and creative work will be a launching point for starting this new venture. I am very excited about pushing the company forward.” explains Galanida
AND has assembled a compelling roster of directors including Greg Brunkalla, Bec Stupak, Evan Dennis, Matt Stawski, Crooker Jackson, and Eclectic Method, all of whom have unique and cutting edge skills. Artist and Derelicts is a full service media company representing directors in all forms of media including commercials, music videos, branded content and web films.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
