Pixeldust Studios, a multi-award winning digital animation and broadcast design studio, contributed a chilling, animated sequence to the recent, high profile Discovery TV special “Killing Bin Laden.” Ricardo Andrade, President and Creative Director, Pixeldust Studios, made the announcement.
For the special, Pixeldust provided animation depicting how U.S. Navy Seals broke into Bin Laden’s secret compound in Pakistan, targeted individuals inside, captured and secluded women and children, and eventually found and killed Osama bin Laden. Pixeldust’s client for this project was Peacock Productions (NBC).
Gretchen Eisele, Executive Producer, NBC, said, “The graphic animations done by Pixeldust for ‘Killing Bin Laden’ elevated the whole program and contributed to its great success in the ratings. Their animatics brought the viewer inside the mission by providing a POV from the perspective of a Navy Seal, stylized so it had a high tech look of night vision goggles. The turnaround time was incredibly tight and Pixeldust handled the deadline with grace and delivered a great product.”
About “KILLING BIN LADEN”
Discovery Channel presented an "insta-mentary" about the dramatic execution of the terrorist icon Osama Bin Laden on May 15th. The hour-long film brought to life the events surrounding the U.S.-led special-forces operation.

Marketers often associate sonic branding with catchy mnemonics used by big brands like McDonald’s, Netflix and Intel in their advertising. But that is a very limited view of what sonic branding is and what it can do. And it’s not limited to members of the Fortune 500. Brands at all levels can benefit from a sonic identity that is memorable, engaging and reflective of its core values. Sound has been scientifically proven to be deeply tied to memory and emotion. There’s a reason that certain songs stick in your head and bring back memories formed years or even decades earlier. So, it’s surprising that sonic branding is often an afterthought in marketing plans. That is especially true in social media marketing. Faced with tight deadlines and strained budgets, creative teams are often tempted to select music for their content simply because it “fits.” Unfortunately, that may result in content that is in tune with what’s trending but is out of tune with brand identity. Effective sonic branding, by contrast, requires thoughtful strategic planning,... Read More
