At NAB 2011, <a href="www.filmlight.ltd.uk.>FilmLight today announces that Spice Shop, Bangkok, has become the first post-production facility worldwide to purchase its new <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2 control surface for Baselight. Unveiled for the first time at NAB on Monday, <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2 represents an entirely new concept in control surfaces for colour grading systems and promises to transform high-end finishing for feature films, television and advertising.
<a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2‘s revolutionary design streamlines the grading process today, while providing a clear pathway to future innovation. Every key on the control surface is a “soft” key and fully programmable. That contrasts sharply with other control surfaces where most keys are hard-wired and require modifiers and/or multiple keystrokes to facilitate an ever increasing feature set. With <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2, complex functions can be accomplished by a single keystroke. The soft key design also means that <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2 has virtually limitless potential to accommodate future functionality additions without the need for redesign.
“When we saw <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2 we understood immediately the impact it would have on our business and our facility, and we knew we had to have it,” said Spice Shop Director of Operations Matthew Szabo. “We were amazed by the possibilities that this new grading panel offers.”
Spice Shop offers complete post-production services for high-end advertising clients throughout Southeast Asia. It is among the most modern post-production facilities in the world and features the most sophisticated file based workflow available in Asia. In addition to <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2, Spice Shop has purchased a Baselight FOUR colour grading system, a Baselight Assist, a Baselight Kompressor media accelerator system, and Truelight-On-Set, <a href="www.filmlight.ltd.uk.>FilmLight‘s industry-leading on-set colour grading and dailies processing system. Together, the <a href="www.filmlight.ltd.uk.>FilmLight technology provides Spice Shop with a colour grading solution that extends from the set through delivery and integrates seamlessly with its editorial, visual effects and finishing operations. Spice Shop will complete the installation of all systems, including <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2, and be fully operational in early summer.
“Spice Shop is establishing as the most advanced post-production services provider in its market and has recognized how <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2 fits with that position,” said <a href="www.filmlight.ltd.uk.>FilmLight Head of Marketing Mark Burton. “<a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2 gives them a decisive edge today and going forward provides them with a unique ability to accommodate new features and new innovations that will further contribute to Spice Shop‘s success”
<a href="www.filmlight.ltd.uk.>FilmLight is previewing <a href="http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk.blackboard2″>Blackboard 2 and all its latest developments on Stand SL7920. It is also hosting in-depth demonstrations of the new developments in the Paramount Room at The Renaissance Hotel.
