The principals of international production company and design studio Brand New School (BNS, www.BrandNewSchool.com) are very proud to welcome Delores Hively to their staff for new business development and as West Coast representative.
Over the past 14 years, Hively has earned a reputation for procuring, nurturing and developing top-level talent and new business opportunities in the advertising and entertainment industries. Since July, 2008, she has been a creative recruiter and consultant in Los Angeles, where she successfully recruited all levels of creatives, producers and account professionals for leading creative companies like BNS, Digital Kitchen, The Martin Agency, A52, Cut + Run as well as other traditional and digital agencies.
Prior to that, she founded Buzz Management in NYC, and served as East Coast representative for numerous creative talents including The Sweet Shop, Final Cut Edit, Amber Music, Transistor Studios, Zoic and Riot, earning distinction as the only representation firm ever featured in Boards Magazine’s coveted "It List." After graduating with a Broadcast Journalism degree from ASU, she began her career as a news assistant at KPNX in Phoenix, and also worked as a research assistant for The Today Show. She cut her teeth answering the phones at Scream (now Supply & Demand) and grew into the role of National Marketing Coordinator and had the opportunity to learn from some of the most respected reps in the country: Richard Miller and Jessica Thomas, Toni Saarinen, and Tim Merjos. She then went on to spend four years in staff positions representing companies like The Bedford Falls Group and Giraldi before launching Buzz Management in January of 2004.
BNS founder and executive creative director Jonathan Notaro, managing director Danny Rosenbloom, and West Coast executive producer Jason Cohon joined forces to welcome Hively to their growing international family. Speaking for everyone at BNS, Rosenbloom said, "Delores is widely adored at Brand New School and across our industry. We had already come to implicitly trust her taste and value her commitment through our previous work together, so when the opportunity arose, we moved immediately to bring her aboard. Brand New School is at once a stronger and more focused company with her addition. We feel she truly is among the best and brightest, a great fit for our company as a whole and a true advocate for our directors and designers."
As Hively explained, her enthusiasm for Brand New School draws equally from the quality of its work and its people. "I’ve had a ton of friends who have worked with BNS since they launched 10 years ago," she began, "so I’ve always been into their style and have watched numerous other incarnations and advertisers try to copy it. I think what makes BNS special is they’re artists and they are constantly evolving and coming up with fun new ways to brand products. I’ve worked with Jonathan and Danny as a creative recruiter for a couple of years now and just really like them both as people. They’re fun and don’t take themselves too seriously, and they swear an awful lot but I grew up with brothers so I actually find that kind of endearing. I really admire their work ethic and respect them both creatively, so when I decided to pursue a staff position they were the people I wanted to work with."
Hively continued, "I also helped them find Jason Cohon, so I was very excited to work with an EP who is also a team-player, a thinker, and creatively driven. I have a great message to share, and I’m very excited to see what kinds of projects I can bring in that let these guys do what they do best and hopefully have a ton of fun in the process."

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
