Nonfiction Unlimited, a production company specializing in documentary commercials, digital and film projects for advertisers, has completed production on a visually stunning documentary project for TIAA CREF, the financial services company. Directed by Peyton Wilson for Digitas, New York, the “Your Future You” spots feature a diverse cross section of TIAA CREF’s own clients pursing their passion to make a difference in the world.
The spot explores what the accomplished real men and women of the academic and medical world will become once they are retired, with the financial planning help from TIAA CREF. As men and women fulfill their dreams on screen there is a voiceover “What will you become?” “Become your obsession.” and all of this fits perfectly in a visually beautiful documentary style. Inspiring images of a man surveying a remote archeological dig, a female pediatrician measuring the height of a group of happy children, the dramatic tagging of seals off of a research vessel as well as an intimate scene of a mom and daughter looking over a family album, are all woven together. At the end of the spot the tag line “Become Your Future You. With Us.” is the perfect summation of these stories. After intensive real people casting the spots were shot over five days on location in and around Vancouver.
“The images and sentiment captured in the spot is lovely”, said Nonfiction’s Executive Producer Loretta Jeneski. It shows how documentary style commercials have evolved and how beautiful they can be.”
