The jury of the 2010 INTERCOM competition has selected Live United to receive their highest honor, the Gold Hugo, in the category Charitable Activity. The production will screen as party of the Chicago International Film Festival’s Best of INTERCOM presentation at 6:00pm on Wednesday, October 20th.
When United Way Chicago needed a piece for their gala event, their goal was to explore the community as a whole to highlight all of the ways in which United Way brings people together. Foundation Content came up with the unique concept of crisscrossing the city with a clothesline featuring United Way’s Live United t-shirts.
Through production and special effects, Foundation was able to extend a clothesline across the entire city! The shoot itself took five days and featured ordinary people most of whom have been touched in some way by United Way. The visual effects took about three weeks to produce and the end result was an emotional journey through the city and suburbs that clearly depicted United Way’s reach.
