New York-based audio and music house, <a href="http://(www.headroomdigi.com)“>Headroom adds Fernando Ascani to their roster as Sound Designer/Mixer. Ascani comes to <a href="http://(www.headroomdigi.com)“>Headroom from HSR, NY where he started his career 16 years ago. Rising quickly through the ranks, Ascani quickly became an award-winning mixer and well-respected creative voice within the company and industry alike. In 2007, Ascani won Clio, Lion and Andy Awards for his work on the XBOX Halo “Enemy Weapon” and “Hunted” spots out of McCann SF. Ascani has mixed spots for major brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Burger King, Verizon Wireless, Colgate and Sprint among numerous others.
Says <a href="http://(www.headroomdigi.com)“>Headroom President/Creative Director Jerry Plotkin, “From the minute I met Fernando, I knew this would be a perfect fit. Besides being extremely talented, smart, personable and multi-lingual, Fernando is one of the most in-demand mixers in New York. We’re thrilled to have him join the <a href="http://(www.headroomdigi.com)“>Headroom team.” The timing for the addition of such a seasoned talent is ideal, as <a href="http://(www.headroomdigi.com)“>Headroom is currently in a period of explosive growth. Says Ascani, “I’m excited to begin a new chapter of my career at <a href="http://(www.headroomdigi.com)“>Headroom. Jerry and the <a href="http://(www.headroomdigi.com)“>Headroom family share my vision for where post audio is going and I feel we’ll compliment each other well.”
Born in Newark, New Jersey, Ascani started out in 1993 as an assistant at Platinum Island Studios where he had the opportunity to work with artists such as Krs-One, Grand Puba, Big Daddy Kane, Mad Lion among other 90s hip hop legends. In 1994, he landed a PA position at Howard Shwartz Recording and never looked back. Ascani also spent a great deal of time perfecting his musical ear outside of the studio. As early as 1997, Ascani was collaborating with friends creating the “Cornerstone mix tapes” with, what he fondly remembers as, “Nothing but a rickety bootlegged Protools system and a passion.” This venture turned out to be wildly successful and afforded him the opportunity to work with DJ Green Lantern, DJ Premier, Tony Touch, DJ Enuff and DJ Muggs, among countless others.
Ascani has worked on a wide range of audio projects, including overseeing the audio in a 2008 project for Nike for the World cup, taking their ‘Joga Bontio’ theme and creating the internet show, "Radio Joga Bonito" and corresponding social networking site which boasted over 100,000 members at its height. Ascani currently resides in North Bergen, New Jersey with his wife of three years.

A&G’s New Third Space Studios Fills A Community Gap
A&G's (Allen & Gerritsen) new Third Space Studios is not just a full-service production offering for the creative agency. It's filling a gap in the community by making a complete video and production facility (live-action studio, production extension, editorial & motion, and audio services for podcasting, voice-over and online audio) available to all. Larger organizations like Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts and Meet Boston, individuals like creators and collaborators, and nonprofits like the Boston Symphony Orchestra and The Wonderfund are already accessing both the space and the affordable creative and production support that comes with it. The Wonderfund has even tapped the studio for an entire brand relaunch. The studio is an extension of A&G’s Third Space, a new concept the agency opened in Boston and Philadelphia last year to give employees, clients, creators, and even startup incubators (Boston currently has two) a place to gather, dream, and innovate in comfortable surroundings. Located inside its Boston location (125 High Street), Third Space Studios is available to the Tishman Speyer building’s tenants who can use its ZO building app to request studio services ranging from studio rentals to co-creation to full-service production. Other businesses nationwide can request services through the studio website. Albolene, Certain Dri, and ThermaCare are examples of national clients that have utilized... Read More
