Director Joel Dunn has won a 2010 Silver Telly Award for his commercial “Kids”, commissioned by client GiveBackGetHired LLC of Carlsbad, California, a new online job search company. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web.
The sixty second spot shows the frustrations of a group of ten-year-old kids dressed in business attire, searching for jobs together in the current marketplace. The shoot took place in Washington Square Park, Manhattan, and was filmed by New York based cinematographer Eric Westpheling. SoLoud Music composed the original score.
Dunn’s recent NYU thesis film “Escape from the Fire,” won a Cine Golden Eagle Award and screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner. The film was funded in part by The Kennedy/Marshall Company and the Ben and Christine Stiller Trust. Based on the strength of the film, Dunn was invited by the Italian government to speak at the Festival Internationale Del Cinema di Frontiera in Sicily.
Joel has been producing and directing commercials and music videos independently in New York since graduating NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts film program in 2008. Joel is managed by Prolific Entertainment, and has two features currently in development.
