DGA President Taylor Hackford today announced that DGA Second Vice President William M. Brady has been appointed to chair the Network Staff Negotiating Committee.
“I’m very pleased to announce that Bill Brady will head up our Network Negotiations once again,” said Hackford. “Bill’s 30-plus years working in television news along with his extensive negotiating experience will be enormous assets to the Guild when it comes time to negotiate our network contract in New York.”
Brady currently serves as Second Vice President of the Guild and has been a member of the National Board since 1999. This represents Brady’s fourth time serving as chair of the Network Negotiations; he previously served in that capacity in 2001, 2004 and 2007. Brady has been a director with CBS News in New York since 1982, and prior to that at WCBS-TV in New York since 1976.
The National Board of Directors unanimously approved Brady’s appointment at its June meeting. The DGA announced earlier this year that DGA Secretary-Treasurer Gil Cates would serve as chair of the Feature Film and Television Negotiating Committee.
The DGA’s current Network contract expires on June 30, 2011.
