Worldwide Internet and TV Advertising Campaign for the Sporting Goods and Clothing Line Promotes Love for Football
GreenLight, a global media licensing, talent negotiation and rights representation consultancy, today announced that it licensed the Publishing and Master Rights to the Gnarl’s Barkley song “Going On”, for Puma’s “Love Equals Football” global advertising campaign celebrating Africa’s passion for the game.
After including many royalty-free songs in past advertising campaigns, Puma decided that “Going On” would be perfect for the project and selected GreenLight to negotiate clearances and licensing approval from a group that has multiple, disparate members from around the globe.
GreenLight, which negotiates access to music, film, celebrity and entertainment content globally, licensed the Gnarl’s Barkley song directly from the music publishers, record label and band management for use by Puma. It began running worldwide on TV and the Internet in March and will continue at least until the end of July.
“At Puma, we see football as more than a sport, but rather a way of life, and we incorporate the game’s fundamental values into everything we do,” said Paul Gautier, Director of International Marketing for PUMA. “By working with GreenLight, we were able to successfully secure worldwide rights for Internet and TV spot to a song that embodies what we were trying to get across with our commercial, Love Equals Football.”
“By using a song like ‘Going On’ that encourages moving forward and feeling free, Puma is able to showcase their lifestyle and brand to a worldwide audience that might not know where their origins lie and what’s important to Puma — football,” said David Reeder, Vice President, GreenLight. “Puma conveys a powerful message that the continent of Africa loves football and isn’t afraid to showcase their passion for the most popular sport in the world.”

A&G’s New Third Space Studios Fills A Community Gap
A&G's (Allen & Gerritsen) new Third Space Studios is not just a full-service production offering for the creative agency. It's filling a gap in the community by making a complete video and production facility (live-action studio, production extension, editorial & motion, and audio services for podcasting, voice-over and online audio) available to all. Larger organizations like Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts and Meet Boston, individuals like creators and collaborators, and nonprofits like the Boston Symphony Orchestra and The Wonderfund are already accessing both the space and the affordable creative and production support that comes with it. The Wonderfund has even tapped the studio for an entire brand relaunch. The studio is an extension of A&G’s Third Space, a new concept the agency opened in Boston and Philadelphia last year to give employees, clients, creators, and even startup incubators (Boston currently has two) a place to gather, dream, and innovate in comfortable surroundings. Located inside its Boston location (125 High Street), Third Space Studios is available to the Tishman Speyer building’s tenants who can use its ZO building app to request studio services ranging from studio rentals to co-creation to full-service production. Other businesses nationwide can request services through the studio website. Albolene, Certain Dri, and ThermaCare are examples of national clients that have utilized... Read More
