R/GA, the agency for the digital age(tm), is pleased to announce the addition of Sam Dallyn as an art director in R/GA London. Dallyn will oversee the strategy and development of integrated digital design projects for London’s Nike account. He will also collaborate with R/GA’s New York-based Nike team. Dallyn reports to both James Temple, R/GA London’s executive creative director, and Lucio Rufo, who was recently promoted to the office’s new design director.
“Sam’s addition to the visual design department drives our vision forward, bolstering the team with exceptional talent that can provide creative leadership and strategic direction,” said Temple. “Through his incredible portfolio, Sam shows that he has the ability to distill challenging client directives to create visually stunning websites, subtle yet powerful brand identities, and striking print campaigns. His design sensibility is a great asset to the team.”
For more than eight years, Dallyn has conceptualized, designed, and directed groundbreaking work for clients, such as AOL, Crate & Barrel, Dell, EA Games (FIFA), Lexus, Nintendo Wii, Nokia, Nivea, Orange, Paul Smith, Palm, Procter & Gamble, Ralph Lauren, Sharpie, and Vodafone.
“Sam’s breadth of client experience and sophisticated design execution will make him an invaluable member of our Nike team,” added Rufo. “He will play an integral role in enhancing London’s design capabilities as we continue to raise the creative bar through the work we produce for our clients.”
Prior to joining R/GA, Dallyn served as an art director at Blast Radius, one of London’s top digital agencies, which focuses on customer experiences and social marketing. During his three-year tenure, Dallyn helped set the design standards across the agency and was able to translate complex business goals into intelligent visual design experiences. When AOL’s website required a new strategy for a simplified, easy-to-use redesign, Dallyn led a design team to boost the site’s search capabilities, implemented comparison-shopping features, and added bookmarking functionality. The new site enhanced the shopping experience for more than 30 million AOL customers and increased the company’s sales by 60 percent. Prior to that, Dallyn held senior designer positions at two other digital agencies in England: GraphicoDMG in Newbury and E3 Media in Bristol.
Dallyn’s web design portfolio was recently published in Taschen’s 1000 Favorite Websites by Julius Wiedemann. He has also been featured in a wide range of UK-based design magazines, which include Grafik, .net magazine, and Logology-The Wonderland of Logo Design, as well as in UK design sites such as FWA: Favourite Website Awards, QBN.com, and styleboost.com, among others.
R/GA London, which operates as R/GA’s European headquarters, opened three years ago and has rapidly grown to more than 50 full-time employees. Recently, the London office took major strides to grow its visual design department, appointing significant new hires and promoting staff from within to lead the creative vision for the agency. These kinds of changes demonstrate R/GA’s commitment to growing its European presence and generating innovative and award-winning work for its clients.

“ฦvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of ฦvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? ฦvolutionย suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence,ย ฦvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating โin the blink of an eyeโ the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called โprogressโ may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscarยฎ... Read More
