Following its recent announcement of new hires and promotions affecting its new business and Scion account management and planning teams, global creative agency ATTIK (www.attik.com) today announced five more new hires, as well as five promotions, once again for its San Francisco office.
The new appointments include Jacob Ford in the position of creative director: digital, John Reid in the position of creative director, advertising, Ryan Schwedhelm in the position of copywriter, Melanie Magatelli in the position of senior print producer, and Patty Lum in the position of senior producer. ATTIK’s co-founder and creative director Simon Needham also announced the promotions of several proven agency veterans, including Ron Lim to creative director, Paul Miller to associate creative director, Mike Brenner to senior copywriter, Greg Coffin to senior art director, and Gabe Nguyen to designer. The new appointments and promotions are effective immediately.
Jacob Ford brings ATTIK over 13 years of award-winning experience as a creative leader crafting distinct digital experiences. He joins ATTIK from McCann Erickson where he held the same title, and where his most recent credits include groundbreaking projects for Microsoft, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox and Bank of America. Prior to that, he held the position of creative director for Organic for three and a half years.
John Reid is another unique, award-winning creative director with a focus on digital advertising and marketing. He has spent the past 10 years designing and producing interactive marketing campaigns for clients such as Microsoft, X-Box, Windows Live, HP, Nike, MSN Music, and Visa. Most recently, he worked with Crispin Porter + Bogusky on many freelance assignments for major accounts, and prior to that, he was VP/ACD for McCann Erickson.
Copywriter Ryan Schwedhelm joins ATTIK from his most recent post as a copywriter for NYC-based MRM, where he worked on the Verizon account. Through his previous work with Toy in New York, he contributed to projects for Business Week, and for LA-based Team One, his past credits include projects for Lexus, Ritz Carlton, P&G, Partnership for a Drug Free America.
Melanie Magatelli has been a very successful independent print production manager over the past year and a half, serving executives at major brands including Apple, Anderson DDB, Duncan/Channon, Ketchum West, Twirl Management and Venables Bell & Partners, among many others. Her prior experience includes holding New York-based print production manager positions with Hill Holliday, TBWAChiatDay, and Lifestyle Ventures.
Working as a leading freelance producer over the past ten years, Patty Lum has produced scores of television spots for Activision, DIRECTV, ESPN, Ford, Oldsmobile, Red Bull, Shell Oil, Toyota, and Qwest, to name but a few. Having joined BBDO West as an assistant producer in 1993, she was named agency producer in 1996, and facilitated major productions for virtually every account there until her departure in 1999.
Ron Lim, Paul Miller, Mike Brenner and Greg Coffin have all earned their promotions through sustained strategic and creative contributions to ATTIK’s major accounts over the past few years. Notably, in 2007, Brenner and Coffin were named Best Emerging Talent by the editors of Adweek Magazine for their contributions to the agency’s sensational Scion xD Little Deviant launch campaign. Gabe Nguyen is another valued team-member that Needham and his colleagues are proud to promote.
