The One Club is proud to announce their Second Annual One Show Entertainment Awards to be held on February 17, 2010. The One Club is the world’s foremost non-profit organization devoted to elevating creative work in the industry.
The competition seeks to recognize the intersection of between brands and entertainment—in film, television, music, gaming, and beyond, and to award innovation and creativity in this rapidly expanding area. Finalists compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils in categories such as Television, Film, Gaming, Online Branded Entertainment, Music, Events and Installations. Produced by The One Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the craft of advertising, One Show Entertainment pays tribute to creative branding beyond traditional product placement.
“Entertainment based brand messaging has created a new playing field for both networks and agencies to engage consumers,” said Mary Warlick, Chief Executive Officer of The One Club. “One Show Entertainment will establish new creative standards as we move forward.”
This year’s ceremony will take place at American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday February 17, 2010. Deadline for submissions is December 11, 2009.
The jury panel consists of an all-star lineup of advertising and entertainment professionals including Jury Chair Jae Goodman, (Chief Marketing Officer, CAA), Evan Shapiro (President, IFC tv and Sundance Channel), Jordan Levin (Founding Partner/CEO, Generate), Ted Royer (Partner/Executive Creative Director, Droga5), Michael Siegenthaler, (Director, Branded Entertainment, Microsoft), Andrew Keller (Co-Executive Creative Director, Crispin Porter + Bogusky), Howard T. Owens (Co-head of Domestic Television, Reveille), Neal Tiles (President, G4 Media), Susan Bonds (CEO of 42 Entertainment), Tera Hanks (Brand Agent, CAA), Mark D’Arcy (President, Chief Creative Officer, Time Warner Global Media Group), as well as other industry professionals.
Spending in branded entertainment is one of the only segments of advertising that has increased spending in the current economy, and has become more prominent with the use of technology and as content drifts from television airwaves to the internet.
Past winners have included Hasbro’s Transformers, Martin Scorsese’s homage to Alfred Hitchcock for Freixenet, and Microsoft’s Halo 3 and their partnership with the US Army.
