Aspen Film announced that Aspen Shortsfest is now accepting submissions of live-action, documentary and animation short films and videos for the 19th annual edition of the festival’s international competition, which will take place April 7-11, 2010.
The early submission deadline is November 1, 2009 with a reduced entry fee, the regular deadline for submissions is December 15, 2009, and the late deadline is December 31, 2009. Competition Guidelines and information on entering submissions are available online at www.aspenfilm.org.

Highlights of the five-day event include public screenings, special presentations and filmmaker activities. Past jurors and special guests have included Jason Reitman and Daniel Dubiecki (Up in the Air, Juno), Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor (Sideways), Julie Taymor (Across the Universe), Paul Mazursky (Enemies: A Love Story), Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy), Frank Pierson (Dog Day Afternoon), Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons), Adam Elliott (Mary and Max, Harvie Krumpet), and many others.
