Award winning production company Automat Pictures announces the launch of a newly formed “Marketing and Creative Content” division to be helmed by Katy Leigh as Vice President. Leigh has been a long time producer with the company, founded by President & CEO Jeffrey Schwarz in 2001.
Automat’s new Marketing and Creative Content division will focus on production of original materials utilized in the marketing of major studio motion pictures. A full service production company, Automat produces content utilized for theatrical marketing materials, original promotional TV specials, digital and web content, as well as DVD & Blu-ray special features. The company maintains involvement with feature projects from day one of production through a title’s theatrical and home entertainment release to enhance their client’s product.
Regarding the new division, Mr. Schwarz said, “The theatrical marketing world has changed very quickly with regards to on-going innovations in technology. Most recently, Automat Pictures‘ Katy Leigh has been producing behind the scenes materials for projects including Paramount’s “Up in the Air” and Warner Bros.’ “Going the Distance.” Other recent titles include New Line Cinema’s “17 Again” with Zac Efron, and “The Final Destination.”
Katy’s other projects include content for “Hairspray” and “Sex and the City,” for both their theatrical marketing campaigns and DVD / Blu-ray releases. Promotional content for “Sex and the City” included producing a satellite VNR for the live extravaganza at the film’s Radio City Music Hall pink carpet premiere.
Leigh is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
