Matt Miller, President and CEO of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP), and Steve Golin, Chairman of the 2009 AICP Show, and Chairman/CEO of Anonymous Content, announced today the winners of the Integrated Campaign category, and the line-up for The Next Awards, which debuts on the morning of June 9th, the day of the premiere of the 2009 AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the American Commercial. The Next categories honor outstanding multidimensional, channel agnostic brand promotions that appear in the moving image.
Now in its third year, The Next Awards expanded to encompass Integrated Campaign, Viral/Web Film; Microsite/Website and Experiential. Jamie Barrett, the Next Awards Judging Chair, and Partner/Creative Director at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, will serve as Master of Ceremonies at The Next Awards, moderating panels comprised of Next judges who will discuss the work entered, and reveal the winners in each category. Prior to each panel, a short film giving an overview of the category will screen; Sorrel Ahlfeld of Anonymous Content directed the films. The winners of the Integrated Campaign category will present case studies of their honored work, giving the audience insights and perspectives on the marketing message and creative execution behind each piece. In an exciting development, there will be an Audience Choice Award for each category, voted in real time with hand-held devices, with the winners revealed just after the winning work is viewed.
“The Next Awards grow as media channels expand – that growth is a cornerstone of the Show, which always evolves with the culture.” said Miller. “Jamie and the Next judges selected some very impressive and innovative work. We’re looking forward to what the judges – and the audience – have to say on June 9th.”
“It’s great to be part of an award show that is so forward looking,” said Barrett. “And for everyone who’s ever wanted to be a judge, this is your chance. All you have to do is show up.”
