Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. Chairman and CEO Dan Glickman made the following statement regarding the development of a $54 million motion picture production facility in Pontiac, Michigan.
Michigan is proving that the film and television industry is truly a boon to the U.S. economy. Governor Jennifer Granholm and the State Legislature implemented one of the country’s best production tax program in the U.S. and now that investment is paying off with the planned development of a new $54 million motion picture and television production facility in Pontiac. This facility will initiate a vital infrastructure that will likely produce hundreds of new jobs and boost a struggling economy.
“Michigan’s production tax incentive is attracting scores of motion pictures and other projects to the state. I applaud Governor Granholm for her foresight and her creative economic development agenda, as well as State Representative Tim Melton for his support and encouragement. With their help, a sustainable new industry is coming over the horizon to Michigan.”
