The CLIO Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious international advertising and design competitions honoring creative excellence and innovation in the industry, today announced a new Strategic Communications/Public Relations awards category to recognize excellence and creativity in the industry.
This new CLIO Awards category will celebrate innovative and creative use of any form of unpaid publicity and messaging that drives credibility, awareness, reputation, and relationships between a company or organization and its consumers or constituents.
Entries will be submitted into three core categories; consumer, corporate and crisis management. Campaigns or efforts to be considered include those in the area of arts and entertainment, cause-related/non-profit, corporate branding, multicultural, international and new media.
CLIO has appointed Richard Edelman, President & Chief Executive Officer of Edelman, as the 2009 Executive Jury Chair for the Strategic Communications/Public Relations Awards.
“In keeping with CLIO’s 50-year tradition of recognizing the highest levels of creative communication, we are pleased to announce the new category that will acknowledge those in the industry who understand the power of public relations and communications in this highly competitive arena,” said Wayne Youkhana, director of the CLIO Awards. “We are also honored that Richard Edelman, long-time pioneer in the public relations industry, will be chairing the new CLIO Awards category, as his insight is integral in selecting campaigns that adhere to CLIO’s highest standard of creativity.”
This year’s three-day CLIO festival will be held May 12 โ 14 in Las Vegas, and will feature five distinct award shows, receptions and after-parties, a comprehensive and forward-thinking educational conference featuring the world’s greatest creative minds, a CLIO 50th Anniversary viewing gallery, as well as networking opportunities for CLIO delegates.
