SHOOT Magazine has selected Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, as its Agency of the Year. The annual honor has been a SHOOT tradition for decades and as it turns out Goodby, Silverstein & Partners has a bit of longevity as well.
Having celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners hardly rested on its laurels. In fact, the agency makes a strong case for it no longer being an ad agency in the traditional sense, a shift which is very much reflected in the shop’s body of work in 2008. This evolution encompasses much more than diversifying into digital and interactive. It entails communication that extends into mainstream media well beyond advertising as reflected in work for such clients as Haagen-Dazs, Hewlett-Packard, Cheetos, Comcast, California Milk, Sprint and the NBA.
SHOOT will delve into the inner workings of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in a special “Agency of the Year” issue on December 5, 2008. Interviews with Jeff Goodby, Rich Silverstein and others will shed light on what makes the agency so successful and adept at making its creative work both contemporary and timeless at the same time.
