Integrated Creative Agency, Syrup (www.syrupnyc.com), one of the country’s most strategic and comprehensive global communications agencies, announced that acclaimed industry talents, Gui Borchert and Mark Laughlin have joined Syrup as Creative Directors.
Featured in Print Magazine as one of the 20 most talented designers under 30, Borchert joins Syrup from renowned ad agency, Mother, where he contributed work to their largest clients including Dell and Johnson & Johnson. Most recently, Gui was invited by the Barack Obama campaign to design a poster for the “Artists for Obama” series. (www.store.BarackObama.com)
Laughlin joins Syrup from global interactive agency Razorfish, where he was creative director, focusing on innovative user experiences, digital brand positioning, and complex information systems design across a variety of channels.
“Both Gui and Mark’s backgrounds are perfectly aligned with our strategy for building our creative team and our company overall,” said Jakob Daschek, Chief Creative Officer at Syrup. “When we look for talent to bring on board, we look for people that are truly media agnostic, which both Gui and Mark certainly are.”
Prior to Mother, Borchert worked at R/GA interactive advertising where he quickly grew into one of the agency’s leading creatives, most-notably contributing to the award-winning Nike campaign. He has won more than two-dozen awards including top honors at the industry’s most prestigious competitions.
Prior to Razorfish, Laughlin was the senior creative at HUGE, where he developed global platforms for some of the most highly trafficked destinations on the web for clients like IKEA, JetBlue, British Airways, About.com, Warner Music, and Columbia University.
