The Berlin School of Creative Leadership announces Dr. Armin Wolf the winner of the 2008-2010 Helga & Michael Conrad Scholarship in Creative Leadership.
Dr. Wolf is the Senior Anchor for Austrian Public Broadcasting Corporation’s (ORF) nightly news program Zeit im Bild 2 (ZIB2). He also serves as a lecturer at the University of Vienna and at the University of Innsbruck. A published author on political communication, Dr Wolf also recently won the Claus Gatterer-Preis for Courage in Journalism and was the 2006 recipient of Austria’s most prestigious journalism award, the Robert Hochner-Preis for Outstanding Accomplishments in Radio and TV Journalism.
In addition to his regular Executive MBA studies at the Berlin School, Wolf’s individual research project will focus on international media consumption and political participation. He is particularly interested in how younger citizens in “media democracies” stay informed, politically engaged, educated and motivated during times of new and rapidly changing media.
Wolf will join the third cohort of the upcoming Berlin School Executive MBA in Creative Leadership Program that begins November 9th in Berlin and will continue part-time over 18 months around the world in London, New York, Chicago and Tokyo. Dr Wolf was selected from a highly competitive group of applicants from 25 countries.
“I am absolutely delighted about this terrific opportunity to learn from an outstanding faculty and from a global class of peers in times that could not be more challenging – and fascinating – for the media business in which I have been working for the last 20 years,” said Wolf upon learning of the scholarship award. “What attracted me most to Berlin School was the unique focus of its executive MBA program on the media and the creative industries. I am looking forward to the chance to meet many of the best in the business in some of the most interesting cities one can imagine.”
“We want to thank all applicants for this year’s Conrad Scholarship for their thoughtful and detailed applications containing a wealth of strong, distinct ideas with the potential to refresh, renew, provoke or change the status quo of communication today,” said Michael Conrad, President of the Berlin School. “The Scholarship was awarded to Dr. Wolf because his very convincing thesis has the potential to make a major impact on the future of our society. His
commitment to well-informed, civically engaged digital democracies is an important issue the Berlin School wants to support.”
