The club de creativos de Espaรฑa ( c de c), the Spanish Art Director’s Club, a not-for-profit organization which works to improve creative quality, has edited and published the Spanish Advertising Annual 2008, a prestigious book containing the best of Spanish advertising in 2007.
The Annual, now into its ninth editions, is an unquestionably valuable publication, showing the trends and representing an annual record of Spanish advertising. In its 300 pages, you can find the 174 most creative pieces of work in 2007 which have been selected and awarded by the club de creativos jury: from TV adverts, cinema, press and radio to interactive and direct marketing campaigns. Creatives, agencies and advertisers show in this edition their best pieces of work, which, as in previous editions, stands out for its exclusive design.
Designed by Uschi Henkes, executive creative director of Zapping/MC Saatchi, this annual is written on the creatives’ skin. Different drawings and texts written on the skin, as well as the different covers, show the exclusiveness of this annual. So that, each book really is unique and only when you put together the 81 books which form the main cover, you can read what is written on the skin: ” we have put our skin on this book, c de c 2008″.
As the book’s designer states, “there are works for which is worth giving up your life, your nights and your skin, of course. This was one of them: the latest Spanish advertising annual. It is an honour and a great responsibility, the whole Spanish industry is going to have the books in their hands and moreover, the book has to honour the work it contains. I wanted this annual to be more than an annual, I wanted it to be unique, with no competition, something to feel proud of. I don’t know if I’ve achieved it, but for sure I have left my skin on it, but of course, it was a pleasure to do so”.
The annual works
The Spanish Advertising Annual 2008 includes the 174 c de c awards in the main five categories: 78 in print, 47 in TV and cinema, 12 in radio, 20 in interactive and 14 in direct marketing.
There are also 21 campaigns awarded with a silver c de c and two campaigns with the gold c de c, such as “Let us do it” by Vitruvio Leo Burnett for Prodis Foundation, and “Flies” by Contrapunto for Amnesty International.
This year, we launched a new award: the excellence in photography c de c award sponsored by Almudena Madera Management. One campaign called “German character-French refinement” for Damm Group by the two photographers Mike Diver and Pedro Aguilar and “Umbilical cord” for Sony Computer Entertainment by the photographer Sara Zorraquino.
