Harris Interactiveยฎ (NASDAQ: HPOL) announced that it has received an Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) David Ogilvy Research Award, the 14th such award that Harris Interactive and its clients have received in the past 12 years, and the fifth year in a row the Company has been honored with this recognition. Harris Interactive, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), an industry association representing U.S. steelmakers, and ad agency Blue Worldwide received a silver award in the “Government, Public Service, Non-Profit” category for their respective roles in “The New Steel โ Inside the Beltway Campaign”.
The ARF Ogilvy Awards annually celebrate advertising legend David Ogilvy’s spirited advocacy of using research for making good advertising better. The winning campaigns recognized have achieved significant business results based on the research insights they incorporated.

In 2006, Harris Interactive research confirmed that Washington policymakers believed the U.S. steel industry was technologically outdated, environmentally harmful and needed protection to survive. Based on these data, AISI, in conjunction with ad agency Blue Worldwide, launched a targeted advertising campaign in the Washington D.C. metro area to reach out to these leaders. Harris Interactive provided benchmark attitudinal research, message testing research, and tracking research in order to determine the impact of the campaign. Through the partnership, the campaign had measurable success in “moving the needle” of perception.
