The industry is mourning the death of Steve Sandoz, interactive creative director at Portland, Ore.-based Wieden+Kennedy. No detailed explanation was given for his departure. According to a press release issued by the company, Carlis left to pursue other interests. In October, Shooting Gallery sold an 80 percent stake in its services businesses (spot/ music video house Shooting Gallery Productions, new media firm Shooting Gallery Interactive, and the Gun For Hire production services and post facilities) to Toronto-based Internet and technology firm itemus. The $56 million deal is expected to be finalized this month. Not part of the transaction was Shooting Gallery’s longform content business, which is being spun off under Shooting Gallery Entertainment.
