Ensequence, the interactive television company, today announced that they have won a Technical and Engineering Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for their MLB.TV Mosaic. The award was presented January 7, 2008 at the 59th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards in Las Vegas.
The MLB.TV web application gives baseball fans around the world more ways to experience their favorite sport by allowing them to view up to six live games at once. The application also includes revolutionary new functionality. Using the exclusive drag-and-drop technology developed by Ensequence, fans are able to personalize their video mosaic configuration. Fans can also track their fantasy baseball players and teams. When one of their fantasy players is up to bat in a game, an alert pops up that the fan can click on to be instantly switched over to the other game.
This win follows several industry-leading interactive television projects developed by Ensequence in the past year, which include the Spike Video Game Awards, the Nike Zoom interactive television advertising campaign and the Top Chef interactive television series.
“Interactive television is now going mainstream and this prestigious award is further proof of its already profound impact,” said Dalen Harrison, Ensequence CEO. “This award is a tribute to our dedicated team and our forward-thinking clients, who have continuously shown their commitment to pushing the boundaries of television.”
The 2008 Technology & Engineering Awards honor excellence in advances in the use, creativity and adaptation of technology that enhances or improves the consumer experience with media across multiple platforms. A panel of industry professionals reviews and recommends technologies and potential awardees. Ensequence received an Emmy in recognition of best use of “on demand” (consumer scheduled or programmed) technology over broadband networks for active “lean-forward” viewing.
