One Six Eight Design Group, San Francisco, created an on-air graphics package for Wolfgang Puck, a new show airing on the Food Network. The One Six Eight creative team, executive producer Jan Phillips and art director/editor Anne Maroon few to Los Angeles to shoot Puck in his signature environment-the famed Spago restaurant-and captured footage of California landmarks and shot vegetables for final compositing. After editing, the elements were transferred to Henry for final composite. Other One Six Eight credits included creative director Brad Soderlund, DP/still photographer Mush Emmons, and producer Lynnette Brawer.
New York-basedPost Perfect completed post on a package of commercials in the NFL’s "Show Me Something" campaign which aired during the recently-completed 2000-01 season. Directed by Spike Lee of Forty Acres And A Mule Filmworks, Brooklyn, N.Y., the spots were shot on 35mm film, with Post Perfect’s Eric Alvarado and Rob Padva as colorist and editor, respectively.
iXL Digital Video Group, New York, helped bring i-Cybie, a robotic dog from Tiger Electronics, to life in a :30 entitled "Cybicity." Directed by Andre Marcel of Tapestry Productions, New York, i-Cybie struts his stuff, performs tricks and shows off his mobility. iXL Digital’s senior visual effects artist Doug Dimon created titles which fly into frame and highlight the robot’s features. Additional iXL credits include graphics coordinator Megan G. Sweeten and executive producer Robin Horlick.
MUSIC NOTES
Machine Head, Venice, Calif., created music and sound design on four Walgreen’s commercials out of Euro RSCG Tatham, Chicago. "Ragweed," "Weather," "Signs" and "Corners" began airing in February and were directed by Anna Christensen of Plum Productions, Santa Monica. Machine Head’s Stephen Dewey was creative director, Chris Neilman was composer, Chris Smith was sound designer, and Shari Christensen was producer.
NY Noise scored two :30s for Kotex and Ogilvy & Mather, Chicago that feature a red dot that bounces around and into (vacation, first date), illustrating how a woman’s period intrudes at the most inopportune time. NY Noise’s Danny Louis composed the track, with Craig Bishop and Rick Depofi acting as executive producer and producer, respectively.
Bicoastal Black Market Music worked on the music and sound design for Inktomi’s "Will," via Arnold Ingalls Moranville, San Francisco. Marc Black was the composer/arranger/sound designer on the :30, which employed kaleidoscopic imagery to portray qualities that are as essential to a successful life as Inktomi is to the positive function of the Internet. Tony Klassen was the director for Planet Blue, Santa Monica.
