Third Street Mining Company (3MC) has signed Sinuhe Xavier for exclusive North American commercial representation.
“Sinuhe has a charming manner that I think stems from his small town sensibilities and ideals,” says John LaChapelle, 3MC owner/EP. “He also has an admirable drive for the art of creating. When he’s not on a feature or shooting commercials there’s always a short film or documentary or still photography project he’s working on. He also has a lot of cool vehicles, and that was big for us.”
As a pro ski mountaineer for The North Face, Sinuhe was able to cultivate his love of the outdoors from an early age. The desire to preserve these breathtaking images led to film school, and a senior photographer position at Overland Journal. “Landscapes have their own character that I like to try and capture, which is probably why I’m most drawn to shooting cars – the landscape adds a vital layer and depth to automotive spots,” says Xavier. “Working for National Geographic first in front of the camera with Gordon Wiltse and later behind the camera enhanced that appreciation as well.”
“Sinuhe injects a sense of humanity to sheet metal,” says LaChapelle. “He adds an honest and naturalistic aesthetic to something that can feel too polished or cold. The warmth of his personality draws a sincere performance from the characters he meticulously casts. ”
Xavier had the chance to indulge his love of the outdoors when Fox Searchlight hired him to film creative content for “127 Hours.” “There’s a developing new media market for selling films in a nontraditional way, and I’ve worked with Danny (Boyle) to create concepts that fans will react to and engage with – it’s been an amazing challenge.” His work on the poster for “127 Hours” was shortlisted on the Hollywood Reporter’s Next Awards in 2009.
Sinuhe was recently hired again by Fox Searchlight and Boyle to collaborate on his most recent film, “Trance,” as Creative Director for interactive content. That project will launch in a few weeks at SXSW 2013.
“What’s alluring to me about signing with a smaller boutique shop like 3MC is that they understand my career and are willing to put it at the top of their priority list,” says Xavier. “Plus, they’re in my neighborhood and I get to ride my bike to the office.”
Xavier started his directing career in 2003, co-writing the Sony Dreams film “Little Pony” with Filip Engstrom at Smuggler. That exposure led to shooting still photography for clients such as ING Direct, Volvo, Pontiac and Dell. He’s also directed high profile spots for clients such as Toyota, Ford, Jeep, Gillette, Subway, EA Games, Decon and Lego. Agencies such as BBDO, TBWAChiatDay, Saatchi, Euro RSCG and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) have turned to Xavier to bring their visions to life, and worked with celebrities such as Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter, Michael Strahan, Carl Edwards, Dennis Hopper, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Scarlet Johansson and Jessica Biel.

2024 AICP Awards Tour Concludes with Stops in Dallas and Chicago
The 2024 AICP Awards Tour concludes with stops in Dallas and Chicago this month as it wraps up its tour of cities across the U.S. The National Tour brought presentations, panels and screenings to marketers, advertising agencies, production and post production companies. The AICP Awards will be in Dallas on Thursday, November 14th, at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, followed by the Chicago event, set for Thursday, November 21st at The Old Post Office. Tickets are available now for both events at www.aicp.com. In Dallas, the program kicks off at 6:45 pm with a happy hour, followed by the screening and panel discussion at 7:30. The evening ends with a networking reception from 8:30 to 11:30. The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is located at 2201 N. Field Street in Dallas.
